This is a superb example of an open educational resource (OER) simulation content: The Venus transit simulation allows exploration of the astronomical event of the year.
Simulations are great to explore. There are lovely features here through toggle options, info display, or changing the location of the viewer position on the globe. It will show you where the event is visible at sunrise, sunset, all day, or not at all. Moving the location pin gives you a run through of the event in that location, automatically adjusting sunrise/sunset times to the local time. The visualisation is superbly simple and attractive, showing you when the sun is below the horizon and when it emerges, plus, of course, the position of Venus at that time.
What a wonderful presentation for public learning! It is possible to download for free but they do ask for a donation, which sounds right to me as a OER model.
