Learning Analytics conference paper
Together with my friend Hendrik Drachsler, we had a paper accepted for the Learning and Knowledge Analytics conference (LAK12) in Vancouver, 29 April - 2 May 2012. Title of our paper is "The Pulse of Learning Analytics - Understandings and Expectations from the Stakeholders".
Learning Analytics and Linked Data workshop
For the 2012 Learning Analytics conference LAK12, I, together with some colleagues, am organising a special workshop on Learning Analytics and Linked Data (LALD 2012). Information and registration can be found here.
DataTEL
I am member of the DataTEL programme committee. DataTEL is an initiative for using educational datasets to improve technology enhanced learning. It is closely related to Learning Analytics.
AI Teaching Simulator
I just completed the coordination of an FP7 project proposal for building an artificial intelligence based teaching simulator and exerciser environment (AITutor). If funded by the EU, this will be a highly ambitious project helping trainee teachers to practice modern pedagogies.
Vice-Principal
I have been nominated for the position of Vice-Principal of the Teacher Training College of Western Austria. This is a challenging post aiming to develop the HE institution into a full university.
